Welcome to the web page of the Grass Lake Community Schools Food Services Department. Included on this page is information about menus and other programs that are being offered. Each of our school buildings house their own kitchens and cook staffs that prepare and serve breakfasts and lunches for all students wanting either, or both. Please call us if you ever have questions, comments, or suggestions.

Department Announcements
Introducing Jeff Brenner, our new Food Service Director
Grass Lake Community Schools is pleased to welcome Jeff Brenner as our new Food Service Director. Jeff, who also is the Director at Springport Schools will be here as the Director part time during the week. If you need to contact Jeff, you can call 517-867-5597 or email him at jeff.brenner@grasslakeschools.com. If you are emailing him, make sure you identify that you are from the grass lake schools. All of Jeff's email from both district are being funneled into one email so it may be difficult for Jeff to determine which school he is dealing with. Also when sending deposits, please make sure you have student ID's on your envelopes, especially if you are sending a deposit with a sibling who is in another building.


GRAB-N-GO BREAKFAST AT GEORGE LONG ELEMENTARY
New this year at George Long Elementary: The Food Service Department will be offering GRAB - N – GO Breakfasts for students to be able to get breakfast in the morning and go directly to class. Breakfasts will be prepackaged, with students having a chance to pick an additional fruit and/or milk with their breakfast. At least one other food item must be taken with the prepackaged breakfast. Students will eat their breakfast right in the classroom. The Breakfast will cost $1.65 for full priced students. Students will be asked for their names so that their student meal accounts can be charged accordingly. Let's eat Breakfast at School!!!!

Breakfast is Served!!!
Breakfast is available every school day except 2 hour late start day. Students can purchase breakfast for $1.65. Those students that have Free and Reduced lunch benefits can purchase breakfast for $0.30 or Free depending on the benefits that they receive. Breakfast is located in each of the schools kitchens and cafeterias. When is breakfast served?

PAYSCHOOLS LUNCH ACCOUNT PAYMENTS

Click this PaySchools logo to begin the process of making online payments to your child's lunch account. The program will indicate a $2.50 convenience charge per transaction when checking out. If you have questions about lunch account payments, contact Jeff Brenner at 522-5597, or by e-mail at jeff.brenner@grasslakeschools.com.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL LUNCH ACCOUNT PAYMENT SUBMISSIONS MUST BE MADE BEFORE 11:59 PM OF THE DAY PRIOR TO WHEN YOU WANT THE PAYMENT TO BE APPLIED TO THE SELECTED ACCOUNT.

BREAK PAYMENT NOTE!
Any lunch account payments made to PAYSCHOOLS during the Friday before any school break or during any school break will be made available in student accounts the very first business/school day back from breaks. Payments made to PAYSCHOOL during the last two weeks of June and the whole month of August will be availalbe in students accounts one business day after the deposit on PAYSCHOOLS is made. Payments to PAYSCHOOLS in July will be deposited into student accounts the first business day in August..

2015-2016 Free and Reduced Lunch Applications Available
Children need healthy meals to learn. Grass Lake Community Schools offers healthy meals every school day. High School students may purchase lunch for $2.85, Middle School students may purchase lunch for $2.75, and Elementary students may purchase lunch for $2.60. All students may purchase breakfast for $1.65. Your children may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. We sell reduced price lunches for $0.40 and breakfasts for $0.30. A printable application is located to the right of this announcement, or pick up a form at the Grass Lake Community Schools Superintendent's Office at 899 S. Union Street (near the bus garage).
